Ph.D., LCSW

I am a Clinical Sexologist with a Doctorate degree from AACS and a New York State and New Jersey State licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from Fordham University. I’m also a certified Imago Couple therapist. In addition, over the past 14 years, I’ve been mentored by Esther Perel on a number of matters concerning couples and relationships and also from 2019 supervised by Dr. Suzanne Iasenza in sex therapy . I specialize in relationship issues for couples and individuals. In my work with couples I assist my clients in developing healthier, more fulfilling and satisfying relationships by finding the key to connection and conflict resolution or help to consciously end the relationship if needed.  I offer short-term therapy for various male and female sexual dysfunctions as well.

My professional experience includes working at a wide range of mental health settings such as outpatient mental health clinics of NYC, nonprofit child guidance organization public elementary and high schools, senior citizen center and NYC Hospital system.

I work with individuals and couples to create a therapeutic alliance of trust and safety, to gain better insights about their life challenges, and to assist the clients in reaching their goals and connect better with their loved ones through improved communication patterns and increased intimacy.

Clinical services provided by my team and myself  include premarital therapy, sex therapy for individuals and couples, conscious uncoupling, and sex therapy for the elderly. We are polyamory informed and LGBTQ affirming Relationship Health Center.

In my work with couples I use primarily Imago Therapy approach created by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. with elements of EFT and Sex Therapy.

My therapeutic approach also combines IFS, AEDP, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, REBT (Rational-Emotive Behavioral Therapy), and Gestalt Therapy, ISTDP (Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy) with incorporated elements of mindfulness and Focusing techniques.

I have a few years of past experience of working with 9/11 related trauma caused by the exposure of residents and workers of downtown to the terrorists’ attacks and its post-math, providing individual, group and couple therapy at Bellevue Hospital and in my downtown office.

I provide short-term CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy) and Exposure therapy for those individuals who are ready to do trauma -focused work to address and heal their abuse story.

Having immigrated as a young adult from the former Soviet Union, allows me to be especially attuned to the young bilingual, Russian-speaking men and women who want have a therapist with similar cultural background.
