Jamie McCoppin

MA, RDT

I love watching my clients light up from the inside out when they discover their personal power and creativity. I became a registered drama therapist in 2015 with the North American Drama Therapy Association. My path as a drama therapist has taken me across the country, working in a variety of settings such as schools, hospitals, elderly communities and an outpatient trauma clinic. I have had the privilege of working with individuals, couples and families from ages 3 to 100.

Today I use a variety of methods in my work with individuals and couples such as Drama Therapy, Trauma Centered Psychotherapy and the Developmental Model. I most recently received training in the Developmental Model from the Couples Institute with Ellyn Bader and Pete Pearson. Using this method allows me to help couples quickly find where they are stuck in their relationship development. This allows me to target the type of relationship skills the couple needs to practice in order to grow the relationship and move forward towards more love and connection.

“Therapy is a commitment to oneself to set aside focused time on feelings, thoughts and experiences that need processing. It is a place to heal and grow if one is open to it. It can be a reparative experience to relate to another human who shows curiosity about your experience.”
